Grunting baby - struggling to breath?

My 4 wk old DD is a great sleeper and generally very content, but over the last week after her night feed at about 2am when I put her down to sleep she drifts off then starts these really loud noises. She seems to hold her breath each time she breathes in, then grunts loudly when she breaths out. It sounds like she's really struggling to breath!

It doesn't seem to bother her too much, (no crying) but it's certainly stopping her from getting into a deep sleep and she does sound in distress with it. I've tried lying her on her side, winding her etc but no improvement. The only remedy I have found is to let her sleep on my chest - I don't want this bad habit to start so am hoping to figure out a sensible way to help her drift off into a nice sleep in those precious hours so I can get some shut eye!

I've been recommended infacol by a friend but I'm not sure it's colic and don't want to start anything like that if she doesn't need it. Anyone else had a similar experience and found anything that helps? Thanks!

Has she got a stuffy nose?

When I saw the title I was coming on to say my newborn say grunting, and it turned out he had a pneumothorax (collapsed lung). However if it's only at a certain time of night that seems unlikely!

Does sound maybe like reflux? Especially if being upright solves it.

I would record it and show a doctor.
