Is 2 year old giving up (my life saving) daytime nap

I'm just after some experiences please.
I have three DCs, my youngest is two and has always been a good sleeper, for the past year done 1-2 hours daytime and approx 8-7 at night.
Over the past few months my two year old has refused to go down for a daytime nap, I have tried everything!
Although I am aware most of you will say he doesn't need them anymore, he will then fall asleep while I go on the school run for a good hour, so I am thinking may still need a daytime nap??

I would like to know if anyone has experienced this but persevered and their DC have got back into the habit of a daytime nap at home.
I would just like to clarify he was only two a month ago so he seems quite young to give up napping x
Thank you as always

My son was around 18 months when he started really fighting his nap (would usually go down from about 1 until 3) He would just lay there being really silly, kicking his legs about, rolling around and laughing etc. I persevered for about 3 months (was pregnant so really didn't want to not have that two hours to chill out!) I tried a routine similar to bedtime- cuddles, story, then put him to sleep in the dark- it worked for about 2 weeks, then he started fighting it again, it got to the point where it was taking well over an hour to get him to sleep and sometimes he just wouldn't go at all, in the end I gave up! He's now just over two (was two at the start of Sept), some days he manages fine without, other days he's very grumpy! Occasionally he will fall asleep in the car if he is really tired and we are out in the afternoon, and he has since the baby was born asked a couple of times if he can go upstairs for a sleep around lunchtime! Other than that we just go with it, I make sure he has some quiet time after lunch, we sit down with books and have a cuddle for half hour or longer if he will sit still! xx

Thank you KW89
I think I just need to go with the flow now.
We were out all morning, I then purposely drove round in a bit of a circle as I knew he would drop off, he fell asleep (he stays asleep when being transferred from the car to his cot) he slept for three hours!!!
I had to wake him up to do the school run.
I have to accept that unless we get out in the morning for a walk and fresh air he is not going to nap ??

Is he actually sleeping enough at night. I don't think eight hours at 2 is particularly good. What's that? 8-5? He might need more sleep at night. That might improve day time sleep.

Oh no sorry I meant 8pm until 7pm x
So he is getting a real good sleep at night so maybe it is enough for him.
Just miss those daytime naps, gave me a few hours to crack on with some stuff at home x
