No more night feeds - but breakfast an issue!

Hi, DD is just over 11months and I have just recently night weaned her. She was feeding 5 times a night so this is a big thing!

I feed her when she wakes up after I've changed her nappy so she's fully awake. She's now taking a big feed as its been 12 hours since her last. Unfortunately this means she's not interested in her breakfast even an hour or more later, and then it's nap time..

Should I give her breakfast before I feed her? I'm usually quite uncomfortable in the morning as my boobs are still adjusting to the change so I like to feed her as soon as I can. I'm also aware that milk is still extremely important to her so wouldn't want her to take a small feed in favour of a bigger breakfast.

Any suggestions?

With my 12 month old we have breakfast first, then a milk 'top up' after breakfast. She can easily go 12 hours between last milk feed at night and breakfast in the morning.

Milk is still important in a child's diet until 2 years old, but I wouldn't say "extremely" important. Now that baby is (I assume) fully weaned onto a varied, healthy diet then milk is just one part of a normal diet. It is no more important than protein or vegetables or fats and all the other food groups. I would not consider milk to be more important than breakfast at 11 months old.
