8 month old suddenly waking up in the night

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post and I'm hoping for some advice. Until last week my 8 month old DD was consistently sleeping through 7-7 and taking 2 naps a day, 9-10.30 and 2-3.30/4. This has all suddenly changed in the last week, and she's now waking up at 5am and refusing to nap for more than 2 hours a day in total (at home and at nursery). I have no idea what's happened, and no idea how to get things back on track.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated, I work long hours and I'm on my own with the baby (my husband is away) so I really need to get a full night's sleep tonight!

Man, it's 4:30 a.m and I just got my 7 month old DD down after her second "midnight" feeding. I googled my problem and found your post. I hoped there would be an answer, but apparently not Confused. Why are our babies suddenly having these sleeping problems?!?

It sounds like the 8 month old sleep regression to me. Just google it and you'll find loads of helpful articles and advice on how to deal with it. Count yourself lucky, I've just started my own thread because my 8 month old is and always has been a terrible sleeper - I'd love for it just to be the sleep regression but he's always been like this so it can't be!

Thanks for the replies. Melann520, I've no idea but it's so frustrating! Last night we had 11.15, 5 and 6 before she got up at 7 - nightmare! At least my husband is back and can help out.

Mamabear15, thanks for the advice, I'll look it up now. Good luck sorting things out, sleep deprivation is brutal.
