My 10 month old demands to be fed all night long?

This just happened in the last 2 weeks. My 10 month old son used to sleep through the night from 8pm until 6pm. For some reason he isn't sleeping through the night anymore. He tries to go to sleep at 8pm (sometimes doesn't fall asleep until 9pm) but he wakes up at 10pm for formula even though he is fed at 8pm. He then wakes up around midnight for another bottle. He then wakes up at 6am for his breakfast. At first I just fed him anyway thinking it was a slight hiccup in his sleeping schedule, but now he does this every single night. It feels like the newborn days all over again. If I ignore him (which I tried several times) he will SCREAM until I go in there. Once I was so sleep deprived, I checked on him and decided not to give him his night time feeds. He literally screamed ALL NIGHT LONG until I went in there at 4am with a bottle...then he started laughing when he saw it and drank it. :/

I feel like this is my fault since I kept giving in. It's starting to really effect our sleep. The home nurse told me not to give him any formula at night, maybe a sip of water if he's thirsty but no food. My son will not have this though. He screams so loud that I am scared the neighbours will get angry at us. The home nurse said he is past the age that I should allow night time feeds. She said things like how this can make him overweight in the future if he feels the need to eat all night long...and it will do more harm than good in the long run for all of us. If I ignore him he screams bloody murder though...so then I will feed him just to get a few hours of sleep. He has formula and solid meals all day though so he shouldn't be hungry. Help :(

Also I think this is effecting his sleep as well. He does sleep catch up all day long and seems more grumpy then usual. Should I just not feed him despite his screaming? :/ This is hard because my husband needs to wake up at 5am in the morning for work so I always end up feeding our son so my husband gets sleep and doesn't end up in a car crash or something. Don't know what to do. :(

What's his feeding schedule in the day. what times and how much?

During the day he gets formula (always 8oz) at 6am, then it's pretty much every 3 hours all day (and night too). He also eats baby rice cereal, oatmeal, baby corn puffs, variety of baby foods for his 3 meals. He also has snacks like cheerios, marble cheese, yogurt, and fruits. He eats ALOT and weighs 25 pounds but he isn't overweight for his height (he's a tall baby and it seems to go right through him). He also has sips of water. We both keep saying he has a bottomless stomach. I really want him to sleep through the night again. When he did that in the past we were all very happy (including him) but now we're all sleep deprived (him too) and we've been more stressed out since this started happening. We were also thinking of having another baby but now we are starting to think we might not just because of this really :( I'm not sure how to get him back on track. Is it a growth spurt? Or maybe I messed up somewhere. I'm not sure.

For the baby food we give him a full jar and it's usually the veggie kinds because I want him to like veggies, but sometimes I get comfort food type ones (rarely) like spaghetti ones, or banana but I'd rather feed him real banana. For baby food I tend to get the "meat n veggies" type ones and he will eat the whole thing.

If you give him vegetable purées as a meal, bear in mind that they lack protein and fat, so I'd add some oil and give him something else for that meal, like cheese, eggs or bread. Things like corn puffs and rice cereal aren't very filling either. Seeing as he is a big baby, it might be that he really is just hungry because he isn't getting enough food during the day, or not the right kinds of food. So I'd definitely work on giving him larger meals during the day, more filling foods, add oil, cream, butter, and don't forget to offer some carbohydrate and protein with every meal he has.

Have you tried him on home cooked meals? The reason being is that you will have more control over the proportions of protein and carbohydrate, which is what will keep him feeling fuller for longer. A jar full of veggies will not last him long so I'm not surprised he seems hungry in the night - he probably is! Make something like pasta and salmon with brocolli and carrot purée mixed into a cheese sauce then give him porridge and a banana for supper before bedtime routine then bottle of milk before bed.

Cabbageleaf, kind of cross posted there!

Tbh three hourly formula feeds plus I'm assuming three meals a day plus snacks is a heck of alot.

was he a reflux baby? I ask because the constant sucking/swallowing/ drinking relieves the discomfort fir many babies and I'm wondering if maybe this is happening to your ds. 25lb is quite large fir a 10m old mine were coming up to 2 befire they weighed that much.

I would maybe medically rule out why he's eating so much?
