12m sleep regression?

My LG has just turned 12m and has recently started night waking again. Using midnight until 2am! She seems inconsolable and is crying and thrashing around. I have tried teething remedies but they don't seem to make a difference.
I have started to give her milk again and that seems to help so I'm thinking it must be hunger which is waking her...has anyone else experienced this?
She has recently switched to cow's milk, could this be affecting her sleep?

Any hints/tips/advice is much appreciated!

Thanks xx

The cows milk could perhaps be affecting her digestion? Maybe giving her tummy ache or similar?

Really by 12 months you should be moving out of the baby months where more calories is the usual answer for disturbed nights. It's an unsettling change to go the other way in the toddler years (starting considering healthy eating and not taking too many needless calories).

Assuming your DD has a healthy diet during the day, there answer might not need to be 'eat/drink more'. However maybe her portion sizes though the day need amending? Or that she needs more water/fluids. She should also be still having at least a pint of milk per day (this is including dairy in food)

Maybe try giving squash water at night?

Thanks for your reply - I think you hit the nail on the head with her portion sizes!
She generally eats really well but has just recovered from oral thrush where she wouldn't have anything in her mouth and would only take minimal water/milk. I think she was making up for her missed meals!!
2 good nights so far...thanks again!
