I'm at my with end. little one wakes every night for milk and will scream until she gets it. she wants more and more and more often than not her nappy will leak.
sometimes she'll ask food too, and has eaten 6 petit filou yogurts, rice crispies and milk.
I'm exhausted, and would appreciate any advice.....

Ah, tall babies seem to take a lot more filling don't they Smile

My DF had a tall girl who was waking often in the night at that age. Her HV advised her to give 6 small meals in the day rather than 3 big ones with 2 snacks.

So it would go something like this:

7am Sausage and beans

10am cheese on toast with veg sticks.

1ish soup with bread and butter

4ish fish pie with veg (you could offer leftovers from the previous day to make things easier on you).

7ish porridge with sliced banana.

Might be worth giving it a try Smile

I would definitely give her porridge/banana/weetabix something like that for supper to hopefully fill her up before bed.maybe more protein as well? Things like toast, yoghurts and pasta don't fill you up for long.

If my dd at 2yo had woken in the night and asked for yogurts/milk/cereal I would have assumed she was joking and ignored Wink

Definitely go cold turkey, night time is for sleeping not eating would be my motto!!

six small meals a day sounds like a great idea and I'm definitely going to give it a try. I'm also not buying yoghurts anymore, and switching to natural yoghurt.
Thank you all so very much for your suggestions, its been very helpful Smile

Oh depressing to read I should go cold turkey and offer water! My 22 month old wakes 1 - 2 times a night for milk and then is up at six. I am going to have to take annual leave to do it as I can't cope with much less sleep and she will not give up her milk easily. Her brother did eventually grow out of it but dd isn't showing any signs of sleeping through.

How are you getting on now solitude?

solitudehappiness · 01/08/2015 20:27

aww thanks for checking jilted
I've swapped meals to little and often. swapped milk for water at night. dd woke up last night, had water, wanted more and more. so said I was getting it and waited until she fell asleep. We're getting there, slowly but surely Smile
thank you so much x
