Need help with routine for DC2

Dd is nearly 5 months. She hasn't got much of a bedtime routine because she's been fitting in with her brother (2 years 10 mth). So they have a bath together at 6:15 ish. Dd comes out first, into night clothes and breastfed in bathroom while ds has a longer bath. Then she's on the mat whilst I get him ready for bed. Then we all go downstairs for a 20 minute programme (like night garden), all on sofa with me feeding dd. Then it's stories in DS room and I leave him to sleep at 7:30.
The problem is dd may be sleepy after bath while feeding or when downstairs but then she gets a second wind and often ends up being awake until 9 ish or later. I feel she would just go down better if it was bath, feed, bed but don't want to upset ds routine or leave him to his own devices whilst quietly feeding her in my room. I am also guilty of thinking "oh well she's awake" and bringing her back downstairs while I do chores etc and that way she gets to see DH when he gets home later. But her night sleep isn't great and I think it's time to start making changes.
Any tips? Dh doesn't get in from work til 9 so can't help with the routine.

Could you watch the programme upstairs? I would watch it in your bedroom (guessing DC doesn't have tv in room) and use that time to soothe dd then move DS into his room and go from there?!

If i give DD (3) a bath, I wouldn't have a programme after as is assume second wind. It's a shame it's working well for one and not the other.

Thanks cassie I might try that with the lap top. We used to have stories straight after bath but found he was so active in the bath that he got himself wired so a quiet TV programme helped calm him (and made it easier to brush his teeth whilst distracted!). He's a bit more tired again after bath these days as he's dropping the nap so maybe we could skip the programme altogether and have stories in my room instead.
