hi, my DD is twelve and half weeks and has been co-sleeping with me and DH since she was 6 weeks old. We would like her to sleep in her cot just next door to our room but we're not having much luck! Any tips? She hates her moses basket as she's such a fidget and wakes herself up.

Try using a grow bag and putting her straight in the cot as it is more roomy than the moses basket so she may not wake herself up so much. It may also be useful to give her a toy that has been in your bed with you for a couple of nights so it smells of you iyswim.

we used to tuck DS in by putting a sheet horizontally accross him, under the armpits & tucking it under the mattress. Even with his gro-bag he would kick & wriggle so much and we found he slept much better 'pinned down'.

He also has a cloth toy comforter rabbit thing that we bought from JoJOMaman. He still sleeps with her.

My 6week old DS has been sleeping with in our bed since birth. I've made several attempts to put him in his bassinette ((with is a temporary measure as its really a travel cot?!?!?)) So its no surprise that DS wakes many many times in the night, cold and hungry...and probably slightly uncomfortable...hence ending up in our bed each time.

Only just started trying out a moses basket. So far, seems to be getting better.

I'm wondering if he'll sleep will improve even more if we put him in a grobag. But unsure about how to clothe him under the grobag, sheets on top, etc??

help!!

If you buy the 'gro-bag' brand bags they usually have a thermometer with clothing guidance depending on the temp of you baby's rm. DS is usually in short sleeved vast, pyjams & 2.5 gro bag. If you are putting a sheet over as well (see below) I would count that as a layer so maybe just a pyjama top or long-sleeved t-shirt.

I have found gro-bags to be brilliant. When you travel it means they have something familiar even when in a strange place. DS is 16mths & still in one & to be honest wd like to use it for as long as poss. Do they make them for 10 yr olds?

Room temp 20 degrees, bodysuit, sleep suit and 1 tog growbag.

But check out the back as it'll list what they can where for what temp.

Hope this helps

I couldn't get my ds to stay asleep when I moved him into moses basket after co-sleeping for first few weeks. I think it wasn't cosy enough so I lined it with a sheepskin then put him in in vest + sleepsuit plus blankets (was winter). He got used to this and when I moved him to the cot I also moved the sheepskin in for a while. Moved him into his own room at 5 months & he started sleeping better as I wasn't waking up at every sniffle & stretch to see if he needed more milk! He's also now in a growbag & definitely recommend it as the wriggle out of blankets very easily.
