At what point are you supposed to establish bed time routine??

I have an 8week old and she is a dream 90% of the time. However it gets to about 6.30pm and she just feeds solidly until 10pm and then will crash. As a first time mom, this seems a little late in the evening for a bed time? She has a bath at about 7.30, which she loves, but comes out screaming until she feeds again. If I try to pass her to dad, she will just get so restless and grumpy (not quite level of scream experienced getting out of bath) unless she is on me. Is this ok? Should we be trying to get an earlier bed time?

Once she is asleep at 10pm she will wake at midnight, feed, and then go back off until 6am, feed again and then bak off until 9.30am ish. So she does sleep remarkably well at night, without fuss x

Sounds really good for her age hun my little girl is 6 months now and only started going to bed at 7 the last two weeks.. She was 11pm then a feed at 1 then sleep until 7 she just suddenly started going asleep at 7 and dropped the later feed.. Your little one should do the same she sounds a lot like my little girl.

Don't worry about establishing a bedtime for several months yet. Somewhere between 4 to 6 months old is usual.

For now, evening cluster feeding is absolutely normal. Much easier to keep baby with you and feeding at this age. Trying to put a tiny baby 'to bed' before they are ready just results in a completely unnecessary battle.

Midnight to 6 is really good for an 8 week old. I'd be quite happy with that.

Is she really hungry when she cries? Maybe it's the cold of coming out of the bath or overstimulation?

I wouldn't give a bath every night either unless it helps the bedtime routine, which it doesn't seem to here.

It sounds like your routine is working for you, and that's what's important, not what you 'should' or 'shouldn't' be doing. If what you're doing now is something you can envision working well in the long term, keep doing it!
