Anyone else suffering from the clock change?

I'm in such a bad mood before I even start this morning - I've been up two and a half hours while the rest of the country is having an extra hour in bed this morning. Plus I have two ds's on my own today as dh is between night shifts. Why do they have to change the clocks it's really annoying!

Off to get some chocolate to help me face the day

We were up at 6:50 (well my husband was) my little boy started whinging at 5:50 but was full on by 6:50 so had to get up!!!

Oh the joy of kids ehh??

mumandlovingit · 29/10/2006 07:38

i was up at 6.10am so in theory 7.10am!

it was the same as usual really though, infact i expected them up at 5.30 as they're usually up by 6.30.

at least it happens at the weekend so they can adjust better.they always semt o want lunch and tea early for a few days as their body's expecting it earlier.

charliecat · 29/10/2006 07:39

OMG, im going back to bed, forgot about this!

Kittypickle · 29/10/2006 07:41

We haven't put them back yet as I couldn't face looking at the clock and seeing it say "5" something. However, DS did much better this morning and actually waited for his bunny alarm clock to open his eyes. I'm not looking forward to tomorrow though.

lexielou · 29/10/2006 07:43

I forgot too until I saw this thread.

dennya · 29/10/2006 08:02

DD woke at 5.30, but with a bit of coaxing and co-sleeping, managed to encourgae her to go back to sleep, untill 10 mins ago .

WitchICouldGiveUpWork · 29/10/2006 08:06

Yep-Dd woke at 5am-despite keeping her up an hour late last night.Listened to her chatter for a while, chat turned to loud protest then crying so got up at 5.45.

I really wish they would ditch this hour change-how is an 18mt old supposed to deal with it?

And yes-I have been bugged all week byt people talking about their extra hours sleep!

ssd · 29/10/2006 08:16

I'm working today with young people with no kids and I'll hit the first one who says they had an extra hour in bed!!!

belgo · 29/10/2006 08:19

some people just make more work for themselves

Mum2FunkyDude · 29/10/2006 08:37

That F....All.

Me awake at 4:15, FunkyDude and 4:30...left dosing till 5:30...he then started wining (unfortunately for me he is teething first set of back molars too!)

Sophiev73 · 29/10/2006 08:45

Totally forgot too.... Ooops. We've been up for bloody ages...

luboo · 29/10/2006 08:50

I totally forgot too. I have an 11 day old baby and had just about got in to a 7, 11, 3, 7, 11 bottle feeding routine. This is going to cock that up - great!

Zippetydoodahzippetyday · 29/10/2006 08:54

Kids woke up at half six (new time) only good thing that will come out of it is the fact that they will shattered tonight and will go to bed early ready for school tomorrow.

Another one who totally forgot about the clocks changing until reading this thread!!

compo · 29/10/2006 09:07

Quootie - it's 9.07am!

Tinker · 29/10/2006 09:13

Woke at 5:30 here (which is her usual time) so we did well - if you ignore the fact that it took from midnight to 3:00 to get her to sleep again in the first place.

another suffered here. I used to love the extra hour. It was like a magical whole extra hour that appeared from nowhere. This time we were filled with dread and even started preparing on Friday night by putting ds to bed later. He woke at 5.47 (new time) sigh.

amijee · 29/10/2006 10:07

it's worked out perfectly for me as i have just got back from the states ( 5 hrs behind) and ds's bedtime was an hr later than usual and he was getting up an hr later.

The clock change has magically made it all normal again!

Beakysmum · 29/10/2006 11:05

So glad I'm not alone in struggling with this too. Have been up since 5.30 (new time) while dh had a lie in. Am in such a bad/ tired mood!

Also, any ideas on why my 21m ds has started waking in the night 3-4 times? He had a great sleep routine until a couple of weeks ago.Now he wakes and just screams / shouts "Mummy, cuddle!" each time he wakes. we have always done controlled crying, but now this seems to make him worse. He just gets hotter and hotter and angrier and angrier.

I think it may be to do with having changed him from a Grobag to duvet and also tantrums in general starting a couple of weeks ago. I may be on the wrong thread, but any ideas gratefully received! Thanks.
