Safe to use a head hugger in DS's crib?

Just wondering if it's safe to use a head hugger (from DS's swing) in his crib at night? I was thinking it might help him to feel secure as he likes to have his cheek touching something? ! Anyone done this or similar?
Thanks

I wouldn't put anything around their head at night. They can easily overheat if their heads are covered.

I was thinking that, how do those sleepy head pods work that are supposed to be so good, wouldn't the same apply to them?

Most people just put a square of soft material I. With them? I wouldn't put a baby in Anythjng round the head to sleep.

I googled the pod thing and it said this:

"A very strong feature which we have seen in our testing both independent and in-house is that an infant does not develop excessive perspiration from body heat with the Sleepyhead. The materials used in the design of it allow for air to pass through effectively, thus keeping baby cool and relaxed when sleeping."

I don't think a head hugger would be quite the same.

I put a couple of muslins in with dd. When she was little I had a big one tucked in across the cot but now she's 6mo she has loose ones that she can hug and chew.

How old is DS?

Muslins are good as they're light and breathable if they get it over their face. I wouldn't have anything else in the cot with a small baby and indeed haven't, even with DC3 who has been a rubbish sleeper until very recently. He has had muslins since 6m and now at 8m he can move around much better so I have a velvety comforter thing in there now.

he's 16 weeks. the head hugger doesn't actually still allows plenty of air to circulate but prob best not to risk it. what do you do with the muslins?
