Help me with naps!

Hoping you lovely people can offer some suggestions :)

DD is 4 months, and will be starting nursery a couple of days a week at 7 months. I'd like to get her better at napping by then! I know it's a while away, but I guess it might take a while.

Basically, she really only naps when out in the buggy. I don't take her out specifically to get her to go to sleep, it's just we're out and about a lot, and she tends to nap then (if we get home while she's asleep she will stay asleep). Obviously when she goes to nursery she's not going to be going out in a buggy several times a day. I've tried getting her to nap at home, and it's... tricky. She needs a lot of singing to, bouncing, etc. Again, once she's asleep I can put her down and she carries on sleeping quite happily.

Any suggestions on what I can do to get her in a nice napping habit?

(Just to give a full picture, she sleeps like a dream at night. We've had a bedtime routine since she was tiny - bath, jammies, feed, story, cuddle, Euan the dreamsheep on, light off, night night, she gurgles cheerfully for a bit then sleeps until morning. So she can go off to sleep on her own at night - she doesn't need me to rock her/bounce her etc then. And I don't think it's down to noise/light etc as she does sleep during the day she's just not keen on nodding off in the first place.)

Any ideas gratefully recieved! And thank you for reading - sorry it's so long!

I'd try following your night time routine for daytime naps.

Much will change over the next 3 months so it's really difficult to suggest something that will work now and also in 3 months time.

Nurseries have magic sleepy dust for kids, my DD Never ever napped at home. Started nursery and did 1.5 -2 hours every day there! If your current routine suits you then I wouldn't worry.

Yes, nursery will get her to sleep don't worry.
But if you want her to nap in her cot, a simplified bed time routine is a good idea. just cut out the bath/ jammies part.
