How am I supposed to sort out dd's sleep when she shares a room ?

dd (13m) just been through a viral infection and is teething so her normally good sleep pattern is disrupted. She shares a room with ds (25m)who sleeps like a log normally, but her crying has started to wake him and I then have 2 babies to deal with ! I have ended up on the sofa for several nights to settle her down and this morning just gave in to her wriggling and switched the light on at 5am - she then waved at me. Very cute but I would prefer she was asleep...

Any ideas on how to try and get her to settle without lots of crying and waking her brother ?

is she in a cot? my dd2 is 14 months and just about to share a room with dd1 I decided to get her a normal single bed, so I or dh can just get in with her if she wakes.

she is in a cot bed - not sure if it would support my weight .

could you lie next to her bed? or does she try and get out?
maybe you could get a beanbag/chair by her bed and sit with her til she's calm, then put her back in and sit by her a bit?
I don't want to suggest any habits you will regret..but it might stop her getting so upset she wakes everyone else up.

Thanks ludaloo - might try sitting with her for a bit. You're right - I don't want to get into any habits which are hard to break but at 4am I'm willing to try anything !

I am not a great one to advise on sleeping issues...
I had to sit with my dd1 til she was nearly 3!
My ds is ok...he shares with dd1 and had a dummy...he seemed happy with that. (although he is about to have his own room...and no longer has his dummy!! EEEKKKK!)
my dd2 is 14 months and will only go to sleep lying flat on my belly!! (I can then transfer her to her cot and she usually sleeps all night then)
Good luck and hope she settles without too much fuss!
