DD is 15 months and has never been a fantastic sleeper but has (had) improved a lot recently. However the past couple of weeks we've had at least 2 nights a week where she's woken up and around 11pm and not gone back to sleep until around 3am.
She is completely wide awake when she does this. If I leave the room she screams until she's sick, so I usually make a bed on her floor and lie down there. She will then play happily in her cot for hours. She will do everything possible to keep herself awake/distract herself. I lie on the floor facing away from her, no eye contact etc. Eventually after a few hours she will get bored and go to sleep. Last night she went back to sleep and was wide awake again at 6am.
She has a routine. She goes up for a bath/milk/story at 6.45pm and is asleep by 7.30pm. She always goes straight to sleep. I put her in her cot wide awake. She has a dummy, only at bedtime. She naps after lunch at 1pm for an hour and a half. She's never really napped longer than this in the daytime. We dropped her morning nap about 2 months ago as she started refusing her afternoon nap. Before that she was having half an hour in the morning and an hour after lunch. Dinner is at 5pm.
I'm 21 weeks pregnant so sleeping (well, not sleeping) on her floor is getting painful. I really don't know what to do, nothing gets her back to sleep and then she's exhausted and grotty the next day.
Any ideas?! I'm worried there's something obvious im doing really wrong!
