Help, new to mumsnet and too tired to check the other topics as this is an oldie.18 wk old adorable during day, but definitely a boob boy as feeds very regularly becomes devil incarnate at night.unfair as he is evidently in pain.Still needs 2-3 feeds and takes up to 2 hrs to settle between which is almost time for next feed...Gets griping/wind type/colic/ whatever is in bogue type pains.have tried all usual stuff to minimal avail.Health visitor said wean - sweet pot. yum yum last 3 days but think he is worse, or we are due to him now waking the 3 yr oldand the dog is freaking as it is firework time and we are completely knacked.3yr old had the good old screaming til 2am colic but then slept thru from 3 months, this is quite different as rarely screams more forced grunts and stiff as a board with the addition of course of those little kicky legs doing a merry jig.curretnlyu with mother in law as I am supposed to be sleeping so pls help....

Hiya - not sure I have any answers, just wanted to give you my sympathy, sounds as though you're going through a really tough time. I imagine you have tried most of these things but when I was breast feeding my baby was getting really bad wind and I stopped eating acidic food like apples and orange juice and that helped a bit. Also giving a little bit of cooled boiled water when they look in pain with wind. Have you tried swaddling - that realy helped to calm mine down - even if it didn't get him to sleep it soothed him.

Thanks, horrendous night last night again.Tried cooled water before but my little angel has an aversion to bottles - the amount of expressed milk I have chucked down the sink as he will onl;y rarely take it.....THink I will try this again though and spoon it in, one way of whiling away those wee hours anyway!Swaddling does soothe at times too.SEeing GP tomorrow so maybe some hints will arise.
