Sleepyhead Grand - worth the money?

Considering getting one to make 9 month old DD's cot more welcoming and hopefully improve her ability to self settle overnight. But will it work if she hasn't had one before now? Or will it just be a new thing to practice standing up on?

And are there any cheaper equivalents?

Hmm, I'm not sure if I'd bother at 9 months. I thought the whole idea of the sleepyhead was to replicate the enclosed feeling of the womb and the curled up position they are used to. By 9 months I'd have thought that will have worn off.

Cheaper equivalent = poddlepod/toddlepod BUT they are not approved for overnight sleeping whereas the sleepyhead is. Second hand?

Does your DD have a comfort toy/blanket? It was about 9 months that DD got really into hers and I think it helped a lot. I admit we also used cot bumpers to make the cot more cosy, though I know they are frowned on. Does your DD wear a sleeping bag (as I think that helped stop DD from practicing her gymnastic skills at night)?

dd is 7 months and a cot refuser and actually refuses to sleep on her own, bought the grand pod a couple of weeks ago, feed her to sleep in it and have managed to have dinner on my own occasionally for the first time on my own in 7 months so worth every penny to me!
