Stopping 3am feed?

I'm sure this has been discussed many times but I just wanted some ideas on the best way to encourage my DS to sleep for longer at night. He goes to bed at 7pm, wakes at roughly 11pm and 3am for feeds and then wakes at 5am grunting and straining to do a poo! I'd obviously like to eventually drop the 3am feed - is it best to gradually give him less milk at this feed until he finds he doesn't need it at all, or to try to move timings? He's bottle fed.
He's nearly 9 weeks so I know its still early days but just wanted some starting points so I can gradually get some more sleep myself!

Oh dear. Personally I think you need to follow his cues - he's very tiny yet and to be honest, is doing pretty well for a baby his age.

As he gets older he'll start going for longer periods at night, but it really is too soon (in my humble opinion!) to be thinking about dropping a night feed. He cannot go from 11 pm til morning.
