Cosleeping

We have been using a sleepyhead in the centre of our bed and then when our LO wakes we bring her into our bed. This arrangement has worked well as she goes to sleep at 7 and is safe in our bed until we join her. She is now 4.5 months and too big for sleepyhead.

So, I was wondering what to do next in terms of safely putting her to sleep before we join her. I have thought about turning cot into sidecar by collapsing side of cot so LO can (hopefully) be put to sleep in that initially. Not happy to put her to sleep in centre of bed as worried she will fall out.
Any suggestions welcome.

Is she rolling? If not, why do you think she could fall out if in the middle your bed?

I have taken the side off a normal cot and moved the mattress up so it's level with our's and have had DS in that since birth, initially in a cocoonababy and then on his own. It's been a really good option for us. I'm just starting to wonder about the next stage for him as at 8 months he's starting to roll and will be able to pull up soon enough and then our current arrangement won't be safe anymore.

She can roll from back to front and only once rolled back again so would not say she is on the move yet. So I guess having her in bed is not a danger as such.
Looking at the cot idea you suggested with bigger sleepyhead in it. I think she will find it difficult to stay asleep at beginning of evening without cocoon of sleepyhead as she has been used to it since birth.
