Previously SUPER sleeper now waking at 4am - growth splurt??

Just a quicky. My little bf babe has been a star since 6 weeks when he started sleeping thru. The last few mornings though he has started waking fully at 4am and drinks heartily then goes back to sleep till 7am. Up till now I haven't noticed any of the growth spurt milestones even though he's a hefty 8kgs and not quite 4 months. I'm being (very subtly) hen pecked by other mums to start solids but want to hold on till 6 months. Just need some reassurance that this is just a growth spurt/faze and not a sign to start solids.

Whats a splurt kiwicath?

Sorry, think he's gearing up for solids! But if he's going back to sleep satisfied, I'd hang on if you really don't want to start on the mushy stuff!

Not a sign to start solids, it is normal for sleep pattern to change now butwill go back. There is no evidence to suggest solids make a differencwe to sleep. We waited for 6 months and believe me it is far easier.

There are previous threads - i'll see if i can find them. Milk is a whole food and far more filling than carrot.

don't worry about the solids, it'll probably make no difference. we waited for 6 months and it was great, dd1 and dd2 v healthy. well done and ignore the other mums if that's what you want to do.

Great, thanks Hercules for the link and others for their advice. Fears allayed, now I just have to get my standard reply worked out for when I get pecked again
