So when did your baby go 6 hours at night?

DS1 is 10 wks today and is going a very consistent 4 hours between feeds at night. Down at 7.30pm, awake at 11.30/12, feed, awake at 3.30/4am, feed, awake at 6.30/7am. He's good, he'll take a feed and then settle straight back to sleep but he's been doing this for about 5 weeks and I guess I'm waiting for something to change.... We actually had a few 5/6 hour stretches when he was 4 weeks and thought we'd hit the jackpot but that lasted a couple of nights. And then at 6 weeks he started going to 12.30am....but we're back at 11.30pm. He's breastfed and a good weight, on 50th centile.

We had so many 6 hour stretches at 3 months that I came to expect them. Ha, bloody, ha. There was a night when he was 4 months that he slept appallingly and we have never had a 6 or even a 4 hour stretch since. At almost 10 months I do a victory dance if I get 3 uninterrupted hours.

DS is on almost exactly the same schedule as yours heatherbell! Usually to sleep at about 8, feed at 11-12, feed at 2.30-3 and 5.30-6, though I'm managing to stretch this to 6.30 by switching on Ewan the sheep or other white noise as he stirs around 5 and that can sometimes send him into deeper sleep for another hour. If he wakes at 6.30 and I feed him I get up at 7, so in my head I've got him down to one wake up as I go to bed at 11! I'm happy with this as he's very efficient at the 3am ish feed, so it's only 20 mins or so. I find letting go of the concept of longer stretches and being happy with the increased sleep I've got has helped. I can go on like this for a few months happily, so anything else will be a bonus. He'll probably have sleep regression At 4 months anyway!
