Clocks Going Back- how to stop earlier waking??

Hi dd has always been a great sleeper, and until recently slept from 7pm till about 8.30am

However recently she is waking up at around 6am when I shove dummy in mouth or ignore her and she falls back and wakes up at about 7am, she is then knackered and has a nap at about 8.30am.
I am now getting concerned about the clocks going back end of october and that she will be getting up[ at 6am!!!
Any advice to get us back on track??

How old is your dd? Actually it doesn't matter, if your dd is sleeping this long without waking up I would count myself lucky. But all babies/children adjust to the the clocks changing - just put them to bed 20 odd minutes later or earlier, might take a few days or a couple of weeks - just as it can with adults. I can't get up in the morning atm!

7 - 8.30

sorry about did not post that to brag, promise, all the other mums i know hate me and think I will have a terrible 2!! she wont eat if thats any consolation??

She is 9 months, I know I should be grateful , but I am not good in the morning at all and am going to bed at 9ish most nites cos I am so knackered!!

Oh, don't be daft. I still have to go to bed an hour or two before I really want to because otherwise I'm useless in the morning.

But your baby will adjust, it may take a couple of weeks but just try putting her to bed 30 mins later. But her sleeping pattern will change over the years anyway, you just get used to being flexible (ie, just as you get into one routine their behaviour changes and you have to start all over again).

I wouldn't worry about the not eating too much either, as long as she's getting plenty of milk, just take it slowly, every couple of days at a time.

Yeah good points there, I hate that feeling in the morning, I feel really pee-ed off when I hear her cry, and just wish she will go back to sleep. I am so not a morning person...Yawn

Do you have a playpen that fits in your room you could fill with toys and put her in to play with? Black out curtains work well with my two. Could you get away with a story cd? Or if you have tv/dvd put that on? I know it's a cop out but an hour or tv in the morning won't do any harm and you can have another nap.

My 2 yr old has started waking at 5.15am every morning - we had to return her to bed 4 times this morning, jsut to get her til 6.20am!

When the clocks go back, it looks like we will be getting up at 4.15am!!! OUCH

Oh bugger had thought clocks went other way. We've got a 3 year old who gets up at 5.30 every morning - surely he can't start doing it at 4.30!!
