8 mo stopped napping well in cot - should I sweat it?

This is written out of frustration really. DD2 had been doing brilliant naps in her cot - 1.5 hours each in morning and afternoon, then after a perfect storm of illness, teething, a holiday and moving her into DD1's room she no longer goes to sleep easily in her cot for naps and then only sleeps for 30 minutes. If I put her to sleep in the pram she goes the full1.5 hours. My gut instinct is that it's better to persevere with making her nap in the cot - better for when she goes to childcare and also is out of the way of DD1 but am being slightly driven mad by the effort it's taking to get her down (loads of shhh-patting) and then not getting any decent time out of it (am busy as we're moving overseas in a few months). Any thoughts? Is it just a phase? Should I persevere or just let her sleep in the pram instead?

Thanks!

We had this problem and I came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth the effort. I would persevere until we got to the point where she would go down in the cot but then something would happen - teething or a cold - and we would be back to square one.

Then when she was about 14 months old she suddenly 'got it' and started going to sleep quite happily I her cot by herself with seemingly no input from me.

Thanks Bug. How did you find that out? Did you just try her in the cot every now and then?

Everything is just a phase. Persevere and she will get it. She's probably just feeling a little unsettled. Keep trying every day.

Yes, just tried it every month or so to.see what would happen and eventually she just went to sleep by herself.
