Ewan the sheep - how do you use it?

Dp bought the sheep thing thinking it would help ds to sleep better but the thing is I don't know how to use it as in how to incorporate it into sleep routine.

At the moment I give ds his last feed in the bedroom and hold him til he goes to sleep and then put him in the crib. So would I just have the thing playing during this time?

Yep I put Ewan on as soon as I enter the room to start nap or night time, then carry dd round the room while i close the curtains and door, give a cuddle and put in her sleep sack.

I've been using it a couple of months since she was big enough to grab the musical mobile and she cuddles into me sleepily When she hears it. Spooky!

I use it when I put DD in cot awake. Initially had it on as I fed her to sleep. Gradually eased her out of feeding to sleep and now Ewan is her sleepy signal Smile

thanks :)

Which of the sounds do you use?

Front left leg. Heartbeat with rain I thinkGrin.

Oh love love Ewan. Have played the front left foot to Ds since he was born when ever I wanted to put him down for a nap or bed. Now if he hears it he starts rubbing his eyes. He was a very unsettled chap for the first 5 months due to milk pelt urn allergy so any help was very very welcome.

Another one who goes for the front left foot! I put it on when I put DD in her cot, and if she wakes in the night. I also use it to try and extend a nap if I want her to have a bit longer.

I have the harp playing for our bedtime routine after bath (feed, nappy, pjs, bed, story)

Passmethecrisps · 02/10/2014 21:47

We used ours from 6 weeks. Initially it was on her Moses basket (stuffed in the handle) and on the heartbeat swooshy one whenever put in the basket. If she stirred in the night sometimes that would settle her alone for a while.

As she got older we used it on the harp which played while reading stories and then into bed. We started it playing as soon as we wanted the cue to bedtime.

We found it really helpful for familiarity when staying over at different places.

Passmethecrisps · 02/10/2014 21:48

I remember when we moved dd into her own room I used to listen to Ewan over the monitor to help me sleep as I missed him!

AuntieMaggie · 02/10/2014 22:36

Thank you - will try it and see how we go

Yes, used it from very early on. Started with the heartbeat/waves one to simulate womb noises and now we're on the harp one.
God knows if she needs it any more now (I suspect not) but it does no harm so it's still going.

We use front left for night time, back left for naps. Put it on as soon as we go in his room, and just have it playing. DS now 1.
One of the bonuses we found was that we can sneak out his room relatively unnoticed because ewan drowns out noise. We also pop it on if we have to go into him in the night. When ds grows out of him I think I'll take him to bed with me Grin
