Best food to give for dinner to ensure a reasonable sleep?

Hi, I have a 15 month old who has always been a bit tricky to settle, she usually wakes at least 3 times during the night and can scream the house down so needs settling each time. I am wondering whether I am feeding her things which she is struggling to digest. (Meat and veg, egg and toast, risotto etc)
I discovered some French baby food which is specifically for night time. Seems to be mainly carb, veg and milk sauces, probably easier to digest but very stodgy. Has anyone else tried these? On the few times we have tried them they do seem to make a bit of a difference so I wondered whether anyone had a 'type' of food they fed their babies in the evening that they felt made a difference.
She takes her evening milk well, her daytime naps are good, she has a good gap between meal and milk, for some reason it's just night waking so am trying to think of other things which might cause the screaming clutching at straws
Anything helpful greatly appreciated!

Have you read this article on askdrsears? Smile

We do tend to give a carby dinner to DS. Stuff like pasta with a cheesy sauce, fish pie, risotto... If he's been at nursery and had tea I sometimes give him porridge. He doesn't have milk before bed any more. I save veg and meat for lunch mainly.

Definitely pasta or mash. Carbs all the way.

We had a similar issue and the solution for us was to eliminate eggs from DDs evening meal. Things with eggs as an ingredient are fine, it's just where it's the main component where an issue seemed to be (omelette, scrambled etc). Took us AGES to work this out though...

Thank you for the link to the article Jilted, might use that info for myself too. And interesting to see that there is a link to food and sleep.

misslaugh we will be doing the same and hoping that works.

Thank you for all your replies! Making some changes from tonight and hoping for an improvement.
