Well as the title says my ds is 6 months this week and over the past 2 weeks his normally 12/13 hours sleep has gone to pot.
He still sleeps in a crib in our room, was sleeping from 6pm (there's no keeping him awake after this time) to 6.30am with a dream feed at 10pm. He's very happy when he wakes up lies there shouting and babbling, doesn't seem to be hungry just wants to be awake. I've tried bringing him in with us. This morning I persevered for an hour to get him back to sleep but it never happened. I'm at my wits end!! Confused

Hi Suzy - can I just say snap!

For the last week my nearly 6 month old has woken up at precisely 4.30am after previously sleeping through to 7. This morning he even screamed so loud he woke his 2.5yr old sis and him even crying is very rare. Anyway low and behold there were two wee teeth glinting at me this morning so am desperately hoping it will go back to normal now.

Might be the same for you? But if not and he is just playing when he wakes, you could try moving him into his own room if you feel ok with that? We did it with my DD as she was so noisy (but happy) when she woke between sleep cycles and it meant that we slept better as we didn't hear as much and I think she drifted back off easier as there wasn't the distracting sounds of potential playmates nearby?

Aw thanks for the reply. I was wondering if it would be better being moved into his own room, ordered blackout blinds so unfortunately another 2 weeks before he can go in but I think your right he thinks me being about is fun so that's maybe keeping him awake as well.
Thank you so much for answering at least I know I'm not the only one going through this

X

My 6 month old is also doing the same!!! It's a big shock to the system isn't it! I'm hoping it's just a phase (like everything else) but I also think she can smell me in the room, so we are going to put my 2 girls in together this weekend and hope that helps!!
