Light on or not?

We are about to move our DS into his own room - he is 6 months old. Just wondering, do you have the room totally dark, leave the door open, have a small light on in the room... ?? Not sure what's best to do. Thanks!

Hi boop
For best baby sleep I think as dark as possible , but we have a small night light on our monitor which is handy for us otherwise we'll be bumping into things when we go in to do night feeds etc !

We have a small night light but think he'd be fine without it!

we had it dark with the door shut. As they got older and started not liking the dark they got a nightlight

We had a couple of great nightlights made by BabyTec. You can set the brightness according to how you want it, also set it to fade gradually as the evening progresses. It was good for when our children were little and didn't like a totally dark room as they nodded off. You could also set it to just be very dim all night, so if they woke up, they weren't frightened.

We had them for years and would recommend them. Sometimes children don't like total darkness. I remember as a youngster myself (before night-lights were even invented) my parents had to keep the landing light on for me.
