Banging Head

My DS is still struggling to sleep through and its a tough battle. One issue we are having is that he moves a lot in his sleep and usually settles laying across his cot rather than down it. As he flinches in his sleep this results in him banging his head against the bars and he wakes up.
I have read that a cot bumper is dangerous as he can stand and walk in his cot. Is there any alternatives to protect his head and let him settle in peace?

We're going through this too! We can hear DS banging his head against his cot on the moniter, followed by cryingSad. I've just ordered some of these;
www.bumpsters.co.uk/ but I'm not sure they'll fit our cot- We're ready to try just about anything at this point though. I've heard bad things about bumpers too, then friends who use them without a second thought so I'm a bit Confused

We use an airwrap like this. You can get them from lots of other places.

Those bumpsters look good as does the airwrap but I don't think they will have enough padding to protect his head

Our dd sleeps on her front and crawls up the cot in her sleep.

When we go to bed we pull her down the bed so she has the rest of the night to crawl up.

It isn't very thick, but DS turns so he is wedged sideways and hasn't damaged his head yet with the airwrap (or DD when she was younger, although she slept on her front and didn't turn as much). It is softer than it looks, maybe pop into a shop and see it? You can wrap it so it is on the inside or the outside, we have it on the inside and it is fine. I don't think you are going to find anything breathable that is thicker tbh.

We have one similar to the Airwrap but slightly thicker...Safe Dreams. Works wonders and stops hands and feet getting caught between the bars too.

We have this issue too and what I have started doing is putting rolled up towels or blankets down along by the bars. Even a small roll should help heads bumping too much, could be worth a try and it's easy to try and remove if no good!
