2 week old wants to sleep on her front

Up until today my 2 week old dd would only sleep on me or in a sling. I noticed how much more settled she was sleeping on her tummy (on me) and on a whim put her down in her moses basket on her front and she's been there for over an hour.
I know the advice is for them to sleep on their backs but I'm desperate for 2 minutes with my hands free. Now feeling very guilty (pfb - can you tell?!)
Is this completely the wrong thing to do?

My baby also preferred to sleep on his front, but I tried swaddling and that really helped - have you considered that? There are instructions on the internet on how to do it safely, and you can use a thin muslin/sheet so she doesn't get too hot.

Funny enough I did this with my 17 day old this morning.......had quite a bad night with his colic and we were both shattered this morning so I brought him into our bed and lay him on his front and he was fast asleep in minutes.....I don't want to make a habit of it though although my mum keeps going on about 'in her day it was fine' etc etc......

Our baby always slept on her back until she figured out how to roll over. Now she sleeps on her front, I don't think there is much you can do about it.

My ds had reflux and would only sleep (at all) on his front.
We got a breathing monitor for him and went with it.

DS made it quite clear from about 2.5-3 weeks old that sleep anywhere other than on me, in a wrap sling, or his tummy, would not happen.

He's DC2 so I couldn't let him sleep on me all day. He hasn't slept on his back since, and is now 6.5 months. I would just make sure his Moses basket was where ever I was so I could keep an eye on him.

He learnt to roll quite quickly so I've not been worried.

This is purely anecdotal though and of course there are guildlines and what you feel comfortable with.

Thanks everyone, I feel less terrible now. She's still asleep and I've been able to potter about the house and eat lunch!
