Tired 7 week old fighting daytime sleep

Hi all,

I'm struggling with my LO who doesn't like to nap in the day despite being tired. He needs the recommended nap every hour or so as if he's awake any longer than this he is miserable and often screams. I know not to let him get over tired but it's so hard to get him to sleep and when I do get him to sleep I end up having to hold him or he's awake in minutes. I do sometimes use a sling and he sleeps quite well in there, it's just tough wearing him for so long each day. Another problem is he rarely naps when out in the buggy so if we're out for over an hour he ends up screaming in the push chair.

Does anyone have a similar experience and is this a phase which is likely to pass? Strangely enough he generally sleeps well at night and goes down alone in his crib.

Thanks.

Bump. My 5 week old is the same. Have posted my own thread but no response yet.

Glad I'm not alone! Mine has been this way since about 2-3 weeks old..

Any advice anyone?

What sling do you have? My dd pretty much lived in the sling at that age.

Sorry but my 17 week old has to sleep on me/someone during the day or she won't nap either. She has only just learnt to sleep in the car seat/pram in the last few weeks if we are out and about.
My advice is wear him till he's a bit older and accept its a phase that will pass as he grows.

I started with a baby bjorn but have now bought an ergo which is better. LO isn't too keen when first put in it but soon calms down and generally nods off very quickly.

I have had some success with swaddling and rocking although this can take some time and LO often struggles and gets quite upset before falling asleep. Also, he will sleep in the car if we drive for long enough!
