I could just leave her there?

DD (2.11) is, has always been, and if DH and I are anything to go by, will always be a shit sleeper. We have recently finally got her into a routine of milk, bath, teeth, story and we're starting to leave the room to let her get to sleep by herself. I promise to go back and read one last story in five minutes if she stays in her bed. This always results in a bit of a hissy fit -for a while it's just been whining and then she drops off. This week though she has been burying herself under the (fitted) sheet. DH thinks she'll suffocate and always moves her, which wakes her up and we're back to square one. I'm dubious about the amount of harm she could do to herself and would rather just wait until she's asleep and fold the sheet over to make a makeshift cover. Is he being a bit PFB, or am I bit of a neglectful mother?

Why don't you take the sheet and press your face against it and see if you can breathe through it? Grin

I have a rubbish sleeper too so I sympathise! Just an idea, but could you put two sheets on the bed, so she goes under one and you can just take the top one off/ pull it off her face when she's asleep? That might be less likely to wake her.

Get a flat sheet then it won't be as much fun.

Toddlers, who'd ave em. Smile

You see I can breathe through it no bother. May try a fitted under and flat on top - good thinking :)
