Thanks to your help last month baby now goes down for naps and night without a dummy and settles herself to sleep. It's not perfect and sometimes she struggles at night but it's sooo much better.

So new issue- boob during the night??

Straight after she learnt to ditch the dummy she would go to bed at 6.30ish after milk then wake about 1. I'd feed her and she would fall back sleep and wake about 6.30. Not every night but I was fairly happy with it. The last week though she has been getting worse and worse. Last night she woke at 12, 3, 5 then 7.20 for the day.

The only way I can get her back to sleep at night is boob :-( tried refusing one time and it took an hour for her to go back to sleep.

Is this just a phase or do I need a week of hell to cut it out?

She is 7 months on the weekend and weight is perfect. I'm sure she doesn't need the calories.

Thanks in advance.

Miss knows, I'm sorry I don't have much useful to offer in way of advise but wondered if you wouldn't mind sharing how you stopped using the dummy. I have a 6mo who I'd like to stop having a dummy.

If you get time to answer I'd be v grateful. Hope someone is along to help you soon.

I'd imagine it's likely a phase.

If you like I'd set a time limit for feeding so if bed is 6.30 don't feed before 12 and not again before 5 and stretch is out from there.

Have you started weaning? It can initially confuse sleep for a while alongside developmental leaps such as sitting & crawling. Teething is also a huge issue at this age.

If your baby is on 3 good meals aday she doesn't need milk at night. She is using you as comfort. We offered water at night from a tippe cup and he soon realised it wasn't worth waking up for. If you are still establishing meals, you could offer say 1 milk feed and the rest water.

As for the dummy cold turkey worked for us. We started by not offering it in the day then a couple of days later BAM. It took 3/4 days but was worth it.

Madallie we chucked the dummies away the day before she turned 6 months. The first couple of data were hell bur she soon taught herself new ways of getting to sleep. When we ditched them I would lay her down and hold her hand then she would get frustrated wanting dummy and cry w when she did I picked her up cuddled and put shewn fir at least 5 Seconds. Repeated for about 2 hours and she finally went to sleep. After 2 days there was a real difference then after a week she was sorted :-)

Thanks for the advice- I think one feed max is the way to go. Last night when she woke at 3 I went in and offered her my hand to hold. Took half an hour to go back to sleep. When is the middle of the night though and you know a quick feed will mean going back to bed in 5 mins it's a much more attractive option!
