5-year-old, 2-year-old: how much sleep?

I can't find my Ferber. Anyone know how much sleep five-year-olds and two-year-olds are meant to need?

Oh, I wish I could get that much sleep sometimes. I'm really lucky if I get 6 hours in a row these days .

They don't always sleep that much though. I've been told that needing less sleep is a sign of intelligence in children - or was that just somebody trying to cheer me up?

About 12 hours at night here for just 4 year old and 2.5 year old.

4 year old needs quiet afternoons as recovering from school in the mornings, 2.5 year old has an hour or two sleep every other day.

Bed around 6.30/7, up at 6.45.

Someone cheering you up

I think it's down to different children. My youngest has always needed less sleep, oldest needed loads (worringly so at one point). Youngest leaps out of bed chatting, oldest stumbles in looking like he's had a really rough night out on the town!
