Why does she not sleep anymore?

Bedtimes used to be so predictible - feed to sleep at 9pm, a 2am and 6am feed, awake at 7.30am.
Now she is waking constantly throughout the night (12am til 6am) claiming to be hungry but only sucking occasionally. She won't go back to sleep in her cot and her tossing and turning means I don't sleep.
Where have I gone wrong?

How old is your daughter, is she breast or bottle fed?

She is 5 months old and b/f. Everyone kept asking what time she went to bed, and looking shocked when I said 9pm, so I tried moving it forwards to 8pm and was really proud of myself when it worked. Now I wish I hadn't changed anything.
If she was actually feeding properly I wouldn't mind, but its a couple of sucks at a time.
There is also a lot of pressure to start feeding baby rice to get her to sleep through but I wanted to continue the b/f until 6months.

Has anything else changed? Is she sleeping more during the day or anything? If she's not sleeping this period at night is she then ending up overtired because she's not getting enough sleep. Is there anything else she could want at night...has she any problems with wind etc? Is she in her own room or still in yours?

Please dont feel pressured to change things for other people! Do what works for you . . b/f exclusivly for as long as you feel comfortable and don't worry about 'bed times' . . have you changed back to your old routien now? . . is there anything else going on? illnes? teething?

Good luck

She is still in my room. She hardly sleeps drring the day - 1/2hr mid morning, 30-60mins mid afternoon. Will see how it goes tonight... I might try putting her back in her cot squirming, she will cry, but might manage to cry herself to sleep within 5 minutes. Is that harsh?
