6 month old rolling in cot

My 6 month old used to go pretty much straight to sleep after a feed (bf) in the evening, maybe with a couple more visits in to settle sometimes but now she has started rolling and getting herself stuck in all sorts of positions and crying (understandably) I then feed her again to try and settle her and this can be repeated up to 4 times before she goes off to sleep.

I have started weaning, she is up to about 2 meals a day of veg and maybe some baby rice but haven't really dropped any milk feeds. Also trying to get her to have a bottle in the day but she is not taking enough for it to be a proper feed.
Normally I'd leave her to cry for a few minutes but now she is rolling and getting stuck I can't leave her crying.
I don't want to get in the habit of keeping on going up time after time to try and feed her to sleep.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I am getting a video camera soon so I can see if she is stuck or just grizzling to settle. She seems very tired rubbing eyes etc

Roll up towels and put them round the edge of the cot so she can't get stuck in the bars.

If she sleeps in a sleeping bag, tuck the end of the back under the mattress so she can't roll too much.

Don't feed her every time, if she's just upset because she's stuck, put her back the right way up and shhh-pat her to sleep.

I have same issue with my DS - we just bought a safe dreams cot wrap and can highly recommend it! No trapped arms in the cot bars and it's made of breathable fabric so no worries about them getting their heads against it.

Not sure about the feeds though, I have been patting DS when he wakes in the night after getting into funny positions - sometimes it can take a while to re-settle him though.

Thanks for the suggestions Smile

We had this exact problem - DS was waking countless times through the night stuck in his tummy. In the end the solution was so simple - we got a thin blanket and really tight tucked him in at about tummy level, still in a sleeping bag, tucking the blanket really securely under the mattress on either side - instant result, no more rolling!

Air wrap bumper worked for us, stops little arms getting stuck... Also as she gets stronger over the next month or so, being on her front shouldn't bother her so much. DD started rolling onto her front around that age, and for a while she used to get stuck and cry til I turned her over, but as she got used to it she wasn't distressed by it and now sleeps in the weirdest positions, face down, head pressed against the cot bars in the corner, bottom in the air - you wouldn't have thought it comfy but she's happy!

Great idea wishing, whizz I've just gone in and she was asleep on her tummy!
