6.5 month old not sleeping after holiday.

Hi all,

We just got back on Saturday from our first holiday to Cornwall with DD. I was worried about how she would sleep on holiday as we had moved her into her own room recently and she had just started to sleep better (7-11, bottle or cuddle then back to sleep until around 530 when I would bring her into our bed until 630). However, while we were on holiday she slept like a dream! On nights where we didn't go out for dinner she would sleep 7-6 with no bottle, only occasional murmuring in the early hours that could easily be settled by popping her dummy back in. Even on nights where we went out she would sleep in her pram.

Since we got back it's a different story. I am currently up with her having been up and down every half hour to an hour since 1015 ish. She is awake but drops off in my arms only to wake and cry. Just waiting for a bottle to cool down in the hope she will settle.

Any ideas what could have caused it and tips? She is learning to crawl currently and since we got back she seems to be very moody and clingy. I am wondering whether it's because on holiday there were 6 of us (me and DP, my mum, stepdad and grandparents) so she was constantly played with, picked up, cuddled etc.

Any help much appreciated!

Anyone?

Lots of possible reasons

  • she was warmer on holiday and likes being warm
  • she was more tired on holiday due to all the interaction
  • she is hitting the 6 month sleep regression (especially likely if she is learning to crawl)
  • she is teething

Very difficult to say which it might be sorry! If you are up every 30 min to an hour (poor you) it sounds like teething or sleep regression or both. Have you tried nurofen? If that helps then it suggests teething.

Thanks. I felt some more teeth poking through last night so I think it could be. I have been using Dentinox gel but it seems to have little effect! I will try neurofen, thank you!
