Have to move 22 month old back into our room - tips?!

We are between homes at the moment and living with my parents; we have had an offer accepted and have started with solicitors, mortgage etc but realistically will be here for a minimum of 3 more months (been here 4 months already, bless my parents).

To date DS (almost 22 months) has had his own room here but due to circumstances beyond our control next week my brother will be forced to move back home for for foreseeable future. Obviously this will leave DS without a room. This is nobodies ideal situation but it is what it is, poor bro, poor parents, poor us! DS is an inconsistent sleeper but GENERALLY he self-settles and often sleeps through, if he wakes he usually only needs a pat and a word. Once a week or so we have a bad night involving multiple or sustained wakings.

So my concerns re bringing him into our room are 1) we'll disturb him, 2) he'll disturb us and mostly. 3) DH has to get up for work about 3 hrs before DS and I usually rise. Am pretty sure he won't be able to be quiet enough to avoid waking DS and so we'll all be up for the day early :(

Any tips or ideas? There is one alternative which would be to put DS cot into the bathroom instead, all the rooms are en-suite shower room though the bathroom is the only room with a bath iyswim. Would that be too weird do you think? Haven't floated the idea to the family yet...

I would definitely go with the bathroom, as long as the temperature right in there, it is not going to harm him and will be a funny story when he is older! You may have to 'nurseryfy' it a bit though, put some toys up etc etc....

I think I'd go with bathroom too- put a rug down for cot to go on, maybe even get one of those little wooden screens to make it seem like a separate area.
