Hello ladies. I know this is a really common problem but I am finding it so difficult and I am due back to work in a few weeks so now is the time to try and solve it. DD is 11 months old and is generally a good sleeper/ eater and happy baby so I know I should really count my blessings. But she has a habit if regressing to 5am waking and often will not go back to sleep no matter what I do. In the past i have done some sleep training which has worked for a few weeks but them something happens like a tooth coming through or a messed up day of naps and we are back to square one! I don't think she's hungry but I do think she wants a bottle out of habit. I don't want to start doing breakfast first as she has this at nursery and she needs to eat immediately on waking so the thought of coming down at 5am to make breakfast fills me with dread. It's not her teeth, I have black out blinds, room temp is ok, it's not a particular noise waking her up etc. I think it is purely habit. Have tried sleep training again but this time it's not working. HELP! My big concern is when I go back to work that crucial time between 5.30-6.00 is when I need to get ready for work not be trying to settle a screaming baby. And boy does she scream!!!

Any advice appreciated. Thank you :-)

Oh and also, when she gets up she is clearly still tired so it's not that she has just had enough sleep. She sleeps at 7.30pm so 9.5 hours in not enough. I have tried putting her to bed earlier and later. She has the recommended 2-3 hours of daytime naps a day.

Sorry my dd is coming up to 11 months - could you try reducing the amt of day sleep?
