Early wake ups... Due to poo!! 15m old, any advice???

Just this, really.
DD was a dire sleeper but now mostly goes through the night. But she is waking early -5am to 6am (if we are really lucky) because of poo. 6am would be tolerable from our point if view but the trouble is that she is still tired and is generally screaming with tiredness 30 mins later.

Have tried to cut out obviously stimulating foods from lunchtime onwards eg most fruits, dried fruit, fibrous veg etc. It makes almost no difference.

She still has a large bottle of milk at 6pm, maybe this is the problem? The trouble is that it is hard to get her to drink much throughout the day so I worry that without the bottle she will just be waking up thirsty instead.

Any fellow sufferers? Advice?!

Btw I always put her back in cot after nappy change but she won't go back to sleep, the whole nappy change process wakes her up too much.

My DS, who is now 19 months went through this phase a few months ago. We co sleep, so I was woken by the sound of him going "uuughhhhh!" by my side, and then I was greeted by the smell :) It lasted a while and then he started pooing a bit later.

Sorry I don't have any advice but hope it doesn't last long.

Can you swap meals around so main large meal at lunch, and lighter lunch style meal at dinner?

I've tried light dinner, but it doesn't make a lot of difference. And lately DS has asked for food during the night a few times.

BTW, in case someone suggests, we tried cutting dairy as well :)

Thanks everyone!
I try to give her more at lunch and less at dinner but she is a very 'foodie' baby (I blame DH) and basically spurns light, snacky-type meals. I have tried eg cheese on toast, scrambled egg... She barely touches them but but would wolf down a casserole and veg or a big plate of pasta, followed by yogurt or cheese... Twice a day! She barely touches snacks in between apart from a bit of fruit, barely touches breakfast, but eats lunch and dinner like there is no tomorrow..

Have had some success the past two days by making her bedtime bottle smaller and by cutting sweet potato out entirely, a pity as she loves it but I do wonder if it makes her bowels work overtime...

Will just have to keep experimenting I guess...
