Settling to sleep

Hello I'm new to mumsnet but come seeking help! By being a complete softy & first time mum (not really knowing what I was doing) I now have a 10 week old baby that will not fall asleep for daytime naps or bedtime unless she's being breastfed. I really don't know how to get her out of this habit. I've tried getting her to take a dummy but she refuses. It's a big issue as she won't even settle out in the pram now which means she is often grumpy if we're out for the day. I think she's too young for controlled crying, but other methods such as shushing & patting her back just don't seem to work.

Does anyone have any advice as I can't continue like this!

Your LO is still young. DD was the same and is now 6 months and can now self settle at night. This just came
with time. We did out her down drowsy after a feed staring at around 5 months-fed and then put her in cot to wake her up a bit to gently start self settling.

Have you tried acupressure - it helped our DD get into a very sleep state when over tired and unable to self soothe - here's my post on 'the sleep inducing point' mydaughterwontsleep.com/2013/12/27/the-sleep-inducing-power-of-acupressure/
good luck

Hi no I haven't tried acupressure. I will give it a go. We do have a clear evening routine, it just always takes about 2hrs to settle her to sleep and the only way is on the breast. This is why I'm keen to try something else as it's unsustainable.
