Hey I'm new here but really desperate at the moment and I always look on mumsnet for help, my Lo is 14 weeks and has never really liked sleeping alone, would constantly have to get her from cot and have her with me. Now she is waking every 2-3 hours like she did as a newborn

I've had to change her food recently she was on sma hungry baby now shes on normal gold sma, she was a little constipated on hungry baby and I found that she was putting on a lot of weight, I've been told to put baby rice in bottle at night but I don't no, I also dont think when she wakes up shes hungry all the time just wants cuddles which I love bit im getting exhusted now, just wonderd of anypnr has been through the same or could advice on baby rice?

Oh god no please don't feed her baby rice.

It's possible she's going through a physical growth spurt and needs lots of extra food.

Or maybe she is going through a mental growth spurt and keeps waking because her mind is unsettled.

Forget hungry baby stuff.

Perhaps try a comfort formula, if she's constipated.

Dont put baby rice in her bottle!

How much is she drinking in the day? Aim for three hourly between seven and seven. Aim to get a big feed in her 10.30/11 pm then as she wakes at night, if its before 2, try resettling, and if after 2 give her a big feed.

Hi there, I'm afraid she's a bit young for baby rice - it could make constipation worse or give her a tummy upset as her digestion is still very immature and not ready for solids at 14 weeks. Also I wouldn't worry about weight gain at this point. My DD was born on the 50th percentile then reached the 91st in 6 weeks! She was always hungry for milk and woke up ever 2-3 hours in the early months. And was a very chubby baby up until the time she started walking when it all changed to muscle. My DD also hated being alone, but again that is normal if you consider they have been attached to you for 9 months. It shows she's got a good survival instinct if she wants to be near you all the time!! Have you tried any different settling techniques - we discovered acupressure as a good tool for helping DD to drop off to sleep and to have a deeper sleep also which lasted longer - here's my blog post on it if you're interested - mydaughterwontsleep.com/2013/12/27/the-sleep-inducing-power-of-acupressure/

Good luck.
