does she have to go into a toddler bed right now? can't you wait for a few months (or even a year)?

ds is 20 months and still in a cot, and will be for a while I suspect, i couldnt take the risk of a bed yet as he's not old enough to understand. I know this doesnt help your situation but could you not put new baby in a cheap moses basket for 6 months, or buy a very cheap cot

bakedpotato · 04/09/2006 16:07

sheesh, you need your sleep more than ever, then.

honestly, I'd buy another cot.

Or -- will new baby be in moses basket for a bit?

jillnlois · 04/09/2006 16:09

we have a moses basket and hope to use for as long as possible, do you think that we have done the move too early, and would the move back to cot be a bad idea?? thanks

DS1 was only 17 months when DS2 was born and we kept him in the cot and borrowed a moses basket from my SIL for as long as poss then made the switch after that when he was a little older - is this a possibility?

x posts sorry!

I wouldn't have thought she'd mind going back to her cot in the slightest.

I have a 19MO. I have the cold shudders thinking about him loose in his room after light's out. And there's no way he'd understand 'stay in bed till morning', either. Though he is, naturally, A Boy Genius.

DD was in her cot till 3.

If you really can't do the cot thing, how about immobilising her with a Grobag?

i read in a few different books to make the transision before the second baby is born, so lois gets used to the bed, but i am beginning to think it is too early, we can keep baby no 2 in moses basket for as long a poss, and put lois back into cot. any other suggestions thanks
