Cocoonababy?

Is this just an expensive gimmick aimed at desperate sleep deprived mums who'll try anything, or does it really help them sleep?!

My 4 week old DS is hugely sicky and it wakes him up at least every hour at night and takes a good hour to settle, whereas during the day he'll sleep for hours in the car seat (yes I know not advised...), propped up on my knees or in the wrap sling. I'm just wondering if something like this which props him up a bit would help him settle a bit more at night.

I used this and it was great but nothing to compare it to. The other mums I know that used also loved it. The lo also looked so cozy in it :) Its really lightweight as well so in the early days we took it down to the living room during the day and also means we didnt buy a moses basket. I think it also helped his reflux as he never suffered at night. He would scream after feeds during the day especially in the evening but somehow he didnt suffer at all at night. I dreaded moving him to his crib but it was fine. I think he was ready. I dont know if it will help your lo and it is expensive.....I got mine off ebay but it was still £90. I would rule out the other reasons he might be waking - maybe confused night and day? before making a big purchase? It does sound like he likes to be cozy so it might be good for him.

I read a lot of good reviews for this and had v high hopes for it but sadly it didn't work at all for us.

This was brilliant for us! DD was only happy on us or in her Cocoonababy to go to sleep. It places them in a really reassuring position (rather than out flat) for the first few months when they're learning about being outside the womb. DD is a brilliant sleeper and has slept through from 8 weeks old (with a few bumpy weeks obviously!). Would highly recommend. She was also happy to go into the cot at 3/4 months with no worries, when she wanted a bit more freedom.

Same used here for DD from birth to 4 months and she seemed to really like it, and slept v well in it. Expensive but worth it IMO and will use for dc2. It was sold out for ages and lots of my Nct group wanted to get one so if back in stock now I would snap one up! Grin
