Hi! I'm getting a little bit beyond desperate now. My 10 month old boy is just the worst sleeper in the world, he's amazing to put to sleep and goes off without feeding or rocking or anything. Have has phases where he's slept from about 8-5 (with a dream feed at 10 and milk at 5 he's never been any longer without a feed) he had a small op at 6 months and the week leading up to it he slept through the night :( it does seem to get worse when learning a new skill? Although with lots of learning, coughs and colds I don't feel like I'm getting a break. Iv even given in and had him in with us but he's still just as restless. Iv noticed now he's rolling over and climbing up the cot in a sleepy state then cries when he's leaning over the cot. He seems to be waking earlier from naps at the mo too. Anyway while right now is particularly bad. He's never been GREAT! So who has the magic answers?!!! Hahaah. Thanks xxx

My first born Rebekah was THE worst sleeper ever! Trust me, there is no magic cure. Health visitor just told us to put her to bed and let her cry and she would eventually learn to "self sooth". Yeah right! She would cry that much, that she would make herself sick! So she did end up in our bed on numerous occasions, because we were desperate for sleep. You are not doing anything wrong! Our second baby came along, and she was a really good at night. All children are different. Hang in there!

DD was the same - she'd practice stand and cruising in the cot in the middle of the night! she could almost do it in her sleep then not be able to get back down easily. In the end we put her on a mattress on the floor - DD preferred it as she thought the cot was a cage and if I had to go into settle her at least I could lie down and sleep too if necessary.
