Please help, i'm struggling :(

Background if it helps:
Always done bath, into sleep bag, feed, story if not asleep with feed and dummy. Once asleep, put in cot.
By 3 months was going to bed between 7 and 8 and went through the night 3 times, other days was going until about 3 for her feed. Was very happy with this but only lasted 3 weeks.

Since dreaded 4 months hit:
Same bedtime routine, baby sleeps about 4-5 hours then wakes but she doesn't cry just groans and keeps turning over. She doesn't roll all the way and sleeps on her side but just rolls from back to side with her face into the mattress with her eyes closed.
The first time she wakes I assume food and feed and she goes straight back to sleep, put her down in cot then every hour from then until morning she will do it again.
I have tried putting her dummy back in, may work for 20 mins then she'll do it again.
Tried cuddling her back to sleep and putting her down but within an hour she'll do it again.
Used lullabies- do nothing.
Tried feeding each time but literally as soon as being but on the boob she will go back to sleep but wake again with an hour.
Even tried just leaving her but she will keep rolling and groaning with her eyes closed for up to 40 mins then finally wake properly and cry.

Why is she doing this and how can I fix it?

Can't be doing with the lack of sleep anymore :(

4 month sleep regression?

Yea I've read loads on it and some days I think so but others I'm not convinced. Forgot to say she often snorts when rolling around as if bunged up too but if I pick her up it goes away instantly.

oh OP, I have the exact same thing with my little boy. I used to think ' 4 month sleep regression? Pah!'.

well...at 3 months I thought how wonderful, I've got this sleep thing under control. but now he is almost 4 months and doing all the things you describe. The noise and the moving around is so loud! the funny snorts and grunts are rather bizarre lol but this has coincided with a growth spurt and he has learned loads of new 'skills' in a short space of time.

I liken it to when you start a new job and you have to learn so much stuff and when you go to bed your head is spinning and you don't sleep very well ! I think we have to ride it out. I have been bringing him into bed with me for the second half of the night and it does help him calm down, but I know this isn't for everybody and I'm already cursing myself for getting him into this habit. But at 3 or 4am I would do anything for a couple more hours !!

My friend described a similar thing. Does you baby sleep in your room or there own? She said once she moved him into his own room it made all the difference because she felt they were keeping each other wake. His
Moving waking her and her moving and checking him waking him up?

You may be on to something with the skills as she has suddenly learnt to roll around and holds things and passes them between hands and mouth etc.

And yes she sleeps in the cot against the bed. Did try her against the wall away from the bed for 2 nights but meant I had to get up multiple times so moved her back. I'm not sure I could cope with her being in her own room, only just starting her napping in the cot and me leaving the room.

Decided to try feeding her each time she woke last night before dummy or anything. She took a full feed every time- 12, 1.30, 3, 5, 6.30, 8.30!!

Is it possible she just needs the extra calories for her growing? I feed her at least every 3 hours during the day.

Disclaimer...ahem... I do not have a perfect sleeper understatement but...we were badly hit by the 4 month regression, ds fed pretty much every 90 mins for weeks I thought I was going to drop dead with exhaustion it didn't end there eithert, he didn't sleep more than 3 hrs til he was 6 months

People told me not to feed, can't be hungry, comfort suckling blah blah..... I wasn't convinced as he took full feeds each time. At his next weigh in he had put on 3lbs in 5 weeks, it was a huge growth spurt and he WAS hungry after all. I would just feed feed feed and do whatever it takes to get some sleep.
