That's it really. Ten months in I'd try anything so went out over the weekend to buy one. It stays on for 20 mins- I've used the rain sound on loud. Do you turn it back on for night wakings or just for settling?

Success stories also welcome!

Thanks

My DS is 10 weeks and we started using it 2 weeks ago.., DS feeds and then as he is falling asleep on me I pop it on (rain one) and then after a few mins I transfer DS to the Moses basket. I usually do at least two cycles of the sheep, to make sure he is settled. DS used to wake a lot whilst trying to move him, but since using Ewan he rarely wakes when being moved, so found it really helpful. HTH.

Sorry, missed out, do this after every feed in the night.

FreeButtonBee · 26/05/2014 20:03

My twins are 15mo. I still use it. I turn it on as they're going to sleep (mine don't cuddle it although plenty of people I know give it to the baby as a bedtime toy. Theybare just about self settling now so if they get upset and take longer than 20 mins to fall asleep I turn it on again.

Night time resettles, yes, I do pop it on. If nothing else it masks the squeaky floorboards as I creep out!

They are not madly interested in it but it mKes me feel like I'm doing something!

I love Ewan the sleep sheep. My GS has one and it makes me fall asleep. I'm thinking about getting one for myself. :)

We started when ds was about 3 months. Every time I put him down to sleep, I switch Ewan on - we like the harp music, but he tends to pick and choose at will these days. At the time, he was breastfed so every time I picked him up from the cot during the night, I'd switch on Ewan. At the start of every cot nap (that came later though) I'd switch on Ewan.

These days, all I have to do is lay him on his mat to zip up his sleeping bag, switch on Ewan and he rubs his eyes! 18 months and it still works like a charm :o

I wouldn't say he's the Miracle Cure as hailed by the reviews. But he's a good, solid sleep cue that has helped hardwire Bed Time into my toddlers brain Wink

Borttagen · 26/05/2014 20:21

Can you not switch it to 45 mins on the back?

Borttagen · 26/05/2014 20:22

Oh just realised ours isn't called Ewan! Sorry.

mrsmugoo · 26/05/2014 20:28

I use the lullaby music as a wind down cue for nap time. I've been doing this for 2 weeks with my 10 week old as we have just started to develop routines for sleeping as he's a crap sleeper!

StinkusMinkus · 26/05/2014 20:28

Had ours since DS (10 months) was a few days old. To start with we just played it to relax him, and then we put it on for every nap and sleep. It definitely acts as a sleep cue for him. If he wakes in the night at all, we'll just go in, put Ewan on and dummy in and then leave again.

Sweetmotherfudger · 26/05/2014 20:29

We used the heartbeat when dc was a newborn now we use the harp for naps and sleep time. Today dc hugged it to sleep.

ecofreckle · 26/05/2014 20:52

We used him since birth pretty much. We put the lullaby music on whilst we read stories and switch to heartbeat for settling. We did that when she fed overnight too each time.
She's 14 months now and we still use in the same way but what revolutionised things for us at eleven months is the introduction of rain noise all night. We put a downloaded track of rainfall from amazon on loop and begin playing it when we're getting her dry. We keep that going until we wake her in the morning. We use it the same during naps. It has meant two huge leaps with sleep in our case. Firstly that she self settles easily as she has the thing that she has when she goes off to sleep present during night wakings. Secondly she doesn't wake with household noise any longer. We take the track on our tablet when we go away and do the same. Magic for us!

nervy555 · 27/05/2014 11:38

Thanks for all of the replys! Maybe it won't work so well for us as my ds is that bit older. He definitely cried less last night but it made little or no difference to night wakings. Tonight is another night though Smile

We love the harp music which I switch on for all naps and bedtime, if anything it helps me drift back to sleep through the monitor! Not sure if it effects DS at all though...hoping it'll help in time with self settling (he's 6 months).

I found turning the light off saved batteries!
