What has happened to my brilliant sleeper?!

My almost 8 month old has always been an excellent sleeper. From 12 weeks she's gone down awake at 6.45 and slept through til 6.30. She has never woken crying, just chatted until I go through and get her. The last few nights have been a nightmare. She has gone down as usual but woken crying two hours later then will only settle in bed with me, but still wakes crying every couple of hours.

She doesn't appear to be in pain, is happy throughout the day and naps as usual. She is a bit clingier than normal but nothing ott. I know a couple of nights is nothing compared to what some babies are like but it is so unusual in my baby. I don't remember a sleep regression around this age with my eldest but she was an excellent sleeper too.

The timing does seem to fit in with a wonder week but I'm not sure I believe in them as we haven't had this before! Any insight would be appreciated!

Classic wonder weeks, see this link www.mybabysleepguide.com/2012/01/when-are-wonder-weeks.html

My 8 month old has always been a good sleeper but has been doing similar for the last couple of weeks. Hoping it passes soon as we are starting the day before 5 most mornings and last night it took nearly 2 hrs to get her back to sleep after she woke at 2am. Exhausting!

Do try to be consistent as bad habits are easily formed at this age, but I do appreciate there is an element of survival at this point.

It is largely related to teething and developemental spurts, namely crawling/cruising depending on what they're up to and babbling. I once found DS in his cot rocking back and forth on his knees and saying dadadadadadadadadadada. Funny now, not so much at 4am.
