getting 9 month old to nap in cot

Hi, this is the first time I've posted on here!
I have a 9 month old and am 12 weeks pregnant with number two! Very excited but I am getting a little worried about how we will manage naps. My wee girl naps wonderfully in her pram/sling or on my knee but she will not nap in her cot. We had a tough time getting her to sleep in there, we co-slept for a while when she was first born, and once she moved to her cot she always settled badly At about 5 months we worked hard using PUPD and got her settling well at night in her cot. Since I found out i'm pregnant I feel I really need to work on getting her to nap in her cot as other options just wont be so practical when I have two! I know i probably should have addressed this ages ago...
I have tried recently getting her to nap in the cot and on day one she went down like a dream, day two and three she screamed for an hour each time, PUPD didn't work and to be honest after one hour I gave up and took her into bed with me where she napped half an hour. I feel unsure where to go from here. We have never done cry it out, and she's not left alone to fall asleep , me or hubby are always in the room. When she is left in the cot she just seems to get so worked up..
I'm unsure how long to persevere with trying to get her to nap in there, missing the sleep window etc.. I know its a big change for her to be in there during the day but she does go down well at night. Any ideas would be great!

Could you put her pram in her bedroom (or other quirt dark room) and have a try getting her to nap there? More familiar than a cot for daytime sleep and can always stand and push it to get her off?
