Hi,
Im new so forgive me if I do anything wrong!
Since my LO turned 4 months she stopped pooing regular - like every 8/9 days :-( I can cope with this as I know it can be normal in EBF. However she has start pounding her legs down on mattress ALL night. Sometimes with a few hours in between but some nights the whole way through.
She and I are then cranky the whole next day as both always tired.
Im trying aired water/orange juice /massage but to no avail.
I know this sounds like a tummy issue rather than sleep but she is still continuing to do this after a good poo. So whilst I think they are linked I dont think that all the story!
Any help? Ideas? Does anyone elses? Does it stop?
We have just come through severe colic & thought we were finally getting a break then this! Im really struggling with it all.
Health visitior btw has no real advice.
Thank you
Cheryl :-)

Hello, I was just wondering, has anything changed? E.g recent illness, new medications / antibiotic use (for you or her)? Or have you changed your diet at all?
Bowel flora can be altered with antibiotic use which may cause constipation. Also babies may also react to foods through your milk so you may want to see if there's any pattern with your diet at all? Cow's milk, gluten and soya can often be the culprits.

There's a possible link between colic and food allergies so it's one you could think about investigating. Babies often grow out of this kind of sensitivity as their tummy strengthens so it shouldn't be forever.

Chamomile tea is very gentle and soothing for tummy pains and safe for babies. You may wish to try and a cooled infusion before bed time.
I blog about this kind of thing - here's a post that may be of interest to you mydaughterwontsleep.com/2013/12/08/a-sensitive-issue/
If nothing improves or it gets worse do get your daughter checked by the doctor.
Best wishes and good luck.
