IS SHE WANTING A DIFFERENT ROUTINE??

My DD is 19 months and for as long as I can remember has slept 12 hours at night and naps in the morning from 10-12.
But recently, she occasionally wakes for no reason in the night, and when I put her down for her nap, she screams...? It's taken me an hour to settle her this morning, as in the end, she cried herself to sleep. She had this sickness bug a week ago, could that have anything to do with it?

I think you might need to let her have her nap later ; my 19mth DS2 would def not be ready at 10am.

As for night, do you go in and see her? I was making that mistake at first, but it made him worse; not he just has a little grumble, then goes back to sleep.

You could try keeping her up longer in the morning so she either sleeps before or after lunch. What time does she get up , 10 seems pretty early to expect her to be tired again . What if you do a toddler activity in the morning and try to nap her afterwards.

I would make the nap a bit later each couple of days. If she wakes at 6 or 7am she is probably not ready to sleep at 10am on most days.

That way in a week or two she will probably nap right after lunch. You might have to give her her lunch early for a while. Ds was havung his lunch at 11.30am sometimes when his morning nap went and he was ready for a nap at 12pm. Sometimes he had the nap before lunch as he was so tired at 11.30am he couldn't eat. Nowadays (he is 21 months old) he starts his nap between 12.30pm and 1.30pm and sleeps for 2-3 hours.

Of course there are always the exceptional days but generally that is what he does.

I would have thought 10 would be too early too for her nap, but I've always let her lead her routine and she showed she was tired at 10, so I put her down & she slept for 2 hours & that's how it's always been.
